Thoughts on Saul Simeon & Mart Arfunkel's works...
Good old times; as my friend Joe calls them. They were the days of high "highs" (not meant to be a drug reference) and low "lows." Everything felt more intense and the music was created from those emotions. The music was fundamental since I was still learning, but with that there was a sense of magic since I felt like anything was possible. Music flowed and a desire to create songs came effortlessly. Back then I wrote for myself and while I really wanted to reach out to others, a lack of interest never stopped my creative process. I miss that sometimes. Music was fun because it was an undiscovered painting and I had a full easel of colors...
